Job Description:
Looking for architects and IT professionals by providing thought leadership and architectural guidance to cope with current challenges and take advantages of technology innovations? This position owns the application development portion of a Utility client, and is responsible for determining how best to address the client's needs and then executing on that plan. It includes working through the Senior Programmers and Software Engineers in the Developer and Platform (D&PE) field, it requires close cooperation with the solutions and industry analogs, and it requires a deep empathy with and technical knowledge of the infrastructure towers and their issues. The Architecture Strategy team is looking for an experienced and self-motivated technical group program manager who can lead the strategy and development of applications architecture, in alignment with the overall platform strategy and in collaboration with product teams and partners focused on the applications, infrastructure and architecture space. Primary responsibilities include: Develop deep understanding of and strong working relationship with the relevant product groups, the field and the audience to develop architecture strategy for key segments/scenarios that will include business cases, solution definitions, product strategy, etc. Form and drive technical virtual teams to execute projects in alignment with the strategy. Create high-quality architectural artifacts (white papers, prescriptive guidance, etc.) for the applications architect, highlighting how the proposed architectures can be best realized with the Microsoft platform. Create and deliver high-impact presentations at key BluEnt Solutions, partner and industry events. Develop training content for Architectural Teams, Technical Strategists, and other roles and partners. Engage with selected customers, partners and analysts in executive briefings, client visits, project consulting, etc., to understand their issues and challenges and stay abreast of trends. Work closely with leading independent software vendors (ISV) and system integrator (SI) companies, engaging with their business and technical architects. Required Experience: 7+ years experience designing, developing, integrating and implementing systems, applications and solutions in the IT environment in an architect, developer or systems integrator role. Program/project management experience with managing significant IT projects is preferred. Deep knowledge of understanding of enterprise development tools and languages, database technologies, and operating systems is required. Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), web services and familiarity with .NET is preferred. Deep knowledge and understanding of hardware and software infrastructure technologies in the areas of networking, storage, backup/restore and server systems. Including understanding of current typologies, protocols, configurations, etc. is required. Real-world experience designing and implementing applications optimized to address cross-cutting concerns like security, manageability, reliability, scalability, availability is preferred. Knowledge and/or experience with tools and techniques for deployment, configuration, monitoring, maintenance is required. Experience with Operations Management and Systems Management is preferred. Knowledge of other industry standard management tools like HP OpenView, Tivoli is desirable. Knowledge of and experience with implementing operational methodologies and frameworks like IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL). |
